What is Turmeric?
It’s been around for thousands of years and has been used in India, in food and medicine. Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its yellow color.
Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. Unfortunately, curcumin content is not very high in the turmeric spice and is not easily absorbed. Therefore, turmeric extracts or supplements are needed to achieve higher dosages.
